Clean Air

Poor Air Quality is a burning issue in many of the countries of the South Asia.  According to the WHO report of 2019, many of the most polluted cities in the world, were in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh.

One of the key reasons for poor air quality in the region is largely due to a predominance of coal fired power plants and increasing vehicular pollution.

The Energy Transition Platform aims at phasing out fossil fuel in the region by 2050 and this we believe would also help in addressing the issue of air quality in the region. In the short to medium term however, the Energy Transition Platform would like to advocate for more stringent and cleaner emission norms to be adopted for burning of fossil fuels.
